Fix needed for transgenders in jail

I'm writing in light of the Sept. 7 Standard-Speaker article about the transgender lady in jail locally. The way we treat individuals in jail is vile, however the way transgender individuals are dealt with is far more detestable. Transgender individuals are frequently denied restoratively essential meds, routinely assaulted by different detainees, and housed in the wrong jail.

Transgender individuals are individuals who have a sexual orientation unique in relation to their relegated during childbirth sex. We have been around since there have been individuals; we aren't new, we are basically tired of not being dealt with as individuals.

There are both physical and mental concerns while suspending hormone substitution treatment unexpectedly, for example, getting to be distinctly self-destructive. What other therapeutically essential medicines have been withheld moreover?

Another issue is lodging a transgender lady in a male jail. That is ensuring that she will be assaulted and, very frequently, the gatekeepers will look the other way or even take an interest in it.

The option frequently utilized is isolation, a ghastly discipline regularly refered to as heartless. This insensitive treatment must end and it must end now.
