For siblings Cliff and Channing Miller, working in kitchens is in their blood.
The two grew up working close by their mother (and their other two siblings) in her Virginia Beach pastry kitchen, Incredible Edibles Bakery.
"There are four siblings," Channing Miller said. "We've been working inside her pastry kitchen since we were 5-years of age. When, one of my siblings put an egg mixer in my hair and tore everything out."
In spite of the brief and sudden balding, three of the four siblings went ahead to work in eateries in some limit and when their mom, Debra Miller, reported she was opening a moment area of Incredible Edibles Bakery in Richmond, Cliff and Channing Miller chose it was an open door for them, as well.
The siblings cut out part of the new pastry kitchen space, which opened a month ago at 718 N. Cleveland St. in the previous Cakes by Graham space in the Museum District, to open North End Juice Bar - a walkway and stroll up juice bar and bistro.
"North End Juice Bar opened on Saturday and we've been hammered," Channing Miller said. "We opened to 15 individuals in line and it's been occupied from that point forward."
The idea for North End Juice Bar is basic: crisp squeezed juices ($5-$7), smoothies ($5 - $7), bowls ($7 - $8) and wheat grass shots ($3), yet the comfort's one of a kind - everything is served rapidly and out of a stroll up window, which opens right onto the walkway on Cleveland Street.
The menu at North End Juice Bar isn't simply wellbeing nourishment - the siblings have put their heating foundation to great use with a choice of prepared empanadas ($5) and cakes on the rundown.
Espresso, coffee and a choice of serving of mixed greens (kale and cous, thai cucumber) and hummus round out the menu.
Until further notice, North End Juice Bar is open day by day from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., yet the Millers plan to develop the hours until 7 p.m. every day, maybe even as right on time as this week.
To keep the Richmond winter under control, warm lights are additionally underway, as are tables and seats with warmed porch umbrellas to make North End Juice Bar a genuine walkway bistro.
