A commemorative plaque to Ballochmyle Hospital and Burns' bonnie lass has been unveiled in Mauchline

BALLOCHMYLE Hospital has been celebrated with a cairn and plaque for the part it played in treating warriors harmed amid the second world war.

The occupants of Ballochmyle Estate and the Mauchline Burns Club consolidated to celebrate the work of the healing facility and Burns' bonnie young lady.

The cairn and plaque were divulged on Wednesday October 19.

Sir Kenneth Calman uncovered the dedicatory a cairn and plaque to check the work of the healing center in both war and peace time.

As a wartime focus it treated administration staff from different battlefields including the D Day arrivals.

It was universally acclaimed for the plastic surgery unit managing both Scottish and London rush casualties.

The plaque in memory of Wilhelmina Alexander, the bonnie young lady of Ballochmyle, was fittingly uncovered by Lady Hagart-Alexander, spouse of the late Sir Claud Alexander, an immediate relative of Wilhelmina's sibling.

Around 130 individuals turned up on a magnificently sunny day for the disclosing including previous specialists and attendants at the healing facility. They then went to Ballochmyle Golf Club for tea and espresso.
