Raising awareness during National Diabetes Month

AUSTIN (KXAN) — November is National Diabetes Month.

Very nearly 30 million children and grown-ups in the U.S. have diabetes. The infection slaughters a bigger number of Americans every year than AIDS and bosom malignancy consolidated.

KXAN's Gigi Barnett sat down with Dr. Sherwin Yen, an endocrinologist with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic and Susie Jockisch, a patient with Type 1 diabetes, to talks about a stroll to bring issues to light for diabetes investigate, group instruction and promotion.

Venture Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes , the American Diabetes Association's mark raising money walk, is coming to Hawaiian Falls Adventure Park in Pflugerville Saturday, November 12.
