Sanford woman hits state trooper's SUV, killed in Wake County

RALEIGH - A Sanford lady was killed Friday morning on U.S. 1 when her auto struck the vacant vehicle of a Highway Patrol trooper researching a prior mischance.

Brianna Lee Vann, 23, was claimed dead at the scene close New Holleman Road in Wake County, a Highway Patrol discharge said.

Troopers were informed around 8 a.m. of a two-vehicle wreck in the northbound path of the parkway.

Around 10 a.m., as troopers were all the while examining, a moment crash happened in the southbound paths of U.S. 1.

Vann, driving a 2003 Toyota traveler auto, neglected to back off as she moved toward the disaster area.

She neglected to diminish speed, the discharge said, and swerved to one side to abstain from hitting a slower vehicle.

Vann's auto ran onto the middle and back over the two southbound paths.

The auto collided with a Highway Patrol don utility vehicle stopped on the southbound shoulder, the discharge said.
