U.S. SENATE – U.S. Congressperson Steve Daines declared $1,040,808 in subsidizing for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) for diabetes treatment and counteractive action.

"Diabetes tragically torment many in Montana's Native people group, and through this subsidizing the CSKT can keep on improving watch over tribal individuals living with this infection," Daines expressed.

Local Americans have the most astounding rate of Type 2 diabetes in the United States.

Daines is a supporter of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI). The 301 SDPI Community-Directed allow programs execute diabetes aversion and treatment mediations in American Indian and Alaska Native people group.

On September 20, 2016, Daines wrote a letter to the U.S. Senate authority underscoring the significance of government interests in this program.
