Gray's Towing helps causes through painted vehicles

The Havelock business, which will commend its 50th year in 2017, has been continuously adding themed trucks to its line.

The four trucks, which have been included the most recent three years, highlight bosom tumor, diabetes and a mental imbalance mindfulness, and a fourth is known as a Move Over truck.

Mike Gray had the thought to do the themed trucks in the wake of seeing another tow organization in North Carolina advancing mindfulness.

"We completed that one, and it only sort of snowballed into doing alternate ones," he said. "We have a mental imbalance, and now the latest one is diabetes mindfulness."

"That is the motivation behind this truck," said Gray. "We're attempting to get the message out to move over regardless of what shading the lights are. Wreckers were added around two years back to red lights, blue lights, yellow lights, whatever they are, you should move over and give us the space to deal with the side of the street. More tow truck drivers are executed each year than flame and EMS staff consolidated."

Dark's Towing does around 80 hookups a day in its domain, which extends from east of Kinston to the Crystal Coast.

Not just do the trucks convey attention to the causes, however Gray's Towing likewise makes gifts to elements, for example, the CarolinaEast Foundation and the Autism Society of Carteret County.

"In the month of October, which is bosom disease, we attempt to do a dollar for each call that specific truck does the entire month," said Gray. "The principal year we did it, I think we gave $1,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. A mental imbalance is April. We did likewise then, a dollar a call."

The organization's subject trucks were simply highlighted in an article in Tow Professionals magazine.
