Health experts raise questions over IV cocktail hangover cure

Concern has been communicated about a Dublin corrective surgery center showcasing intravenous dribbles as an aftereffect cure for revelers to "beat the gathering season this Christmas".

Venus Medical, in Dundrum, charges amongst €199 and €349 for Reviv, an "intravenous organization of liquids and vitamins".

The center markets it as a treatment that prompts to "expanded vitality, upgraded state of mind, enhanced rest, diminished anxiety, expanded insusceptibility, hydration and muscle recuperation".

It claims it has been "grasped by big names including Rihanna, Simon Cowell and Madonna".

Maeve Skelly, expert gastroenterologist at University Hospital Limerick, said the treatment was stressing.

"It's another case of normalizing strategic alcoholism. I'm worried about normalizing an aftereffect, which is nature's method for letting you know that you drank excessively," she said.
